What do I need to know about the adult business?

It’s simple. One of my favorite cliches is ‘sex sells’, just because it’s true. There are a lot of money in the adult niche for everyone, even nowadays – July 2017.  I’ve been doing some porn sites for a while, and I know how hard it is to start.  There is not enough information on where and how and this is why I got inspired to write the following article.  I will also discuss how much you can expect as income from your porn website/s and what investment you will need.

The key thing to understand on that first step is that the adult niche is not different than any other, it just has more restrictions and rules.

Before start doing anything else, make sure that the country you reside in doesn’t forbid you to do that. Some countries have strict regulations about porn, make sure you know the law first.

Be aware that you are not the only one – there is a lot of fish in the sea, so you need to somehow come up with original content, which will be interesting to your visitors (this applies for both pictures, written content, etc)

DON’T make the mistake to automate too much. I started with auto blogs in the business and this was bringing constant issues.

DON’T do child porn – this is disgusting!

Decide what type of website you will be offering

This is your first actual step. And probably the hardest one. Try to think outside of the box and try to deliver something that will be interesting to you & to others (not only to you).

The main types of adult websites can be separated in a few categories:

  • Tube sites – like YouTube, but for porn, you know them
  • Blog sites – blog with articles, images
  • Directory sites – link sites, pointing to other porn sites (a good example is theporndude.com)
  • Whitelabels – webcam affiliate sites
  • TGP – Thumbnail gallery pages (a list of small pictures on a simple landing page)
  • Paysites – sites providing premium content

You will probably notice that some of these are bolded. This is because I don’t recommend them for beginners. As a start, you best choice will be either a blog type porn site, TGP or Directory site. Let’s have a look at the following infograph:

The best choice for starters is a blog, in which pictures and videos can be shared. Here I recommend WordPress (you will need a web hosting) or Tumblr blog.

Let’s assume now that we have an idea, with what our first adult business website will start, what after that?

Chosing a niche for your adult business

That’s the most challenging part. Let’s assume that we selected the Blog type of porn site. We need to research here. Go to AdWords’s Keyword planner tool and try to look for niches like anal or asian. Check the volumes of all searches and consider long-tail keywords

As you probably can imagine, these niches will be very saturated and it will take a lot of time to get into the first page of google. This is why I suggest looking for a niche like anal sex stories or asian goddess or whatever else comes up in your mind.

Once you have selected the niche, it’s time to start the real work on your brand new adult business idea! Don’t make a mistake and start thinking about the money from the beginning. You will need some content – really good one.

NOTE: Monetizing such types of content is a tricky business and you will need patience (a lot of it)! Patience is the key for success and I have a very good example – me! My websites weren’t doing much in the first 15 days, but when I made my first lead (2.5$) Oh boy! I got excited! If you are patient and consistent about what you are doing – you will succeed!
